Reflections…A message for my Patients!
I am looking at the cards in front of me, thinking of the words carefully written out and the messages sent my way through portals, email, social media and IM’s. Reflecting on the hours at the place I have worked, given my heart, love, and sole for the past 12 years. Thinking about the caring thoughts shared on paper, heartfelt messages sent my way and how I have touched so many of you. As I reflect, I come back to asking myself…how I can tell all of you how much you mean to me? A letter from the organization that has been my home can only say so much for reasons that make sense but leave so many words left unspoken. I know this message will not reach you all and I wish there were a way I could make sure it would because it is clear from many of the messages that there is uncertainty for what lies ahead. But, I do have this medium to share and it is something I can do, and without any filters but my own. To be clear, I’m not leaving you, I’m leaving a place of employment. With that said, here is my message to all of you, my patients and my friends.
I’ve been through some of the worst times and best times with you. It has been an honor to be by your side and for the trust you have placed in me. I really don’t like it when I have bad news to share but, I am grateful to be there to support you, help you, guide you and advocate for you so that you may get the best care possible. The health care system is tricky, treatment options are complex, it’s scary and answers are sometimes not what you want to hear. If you can do one thing for me if we don’t meet again. Be healthy, be fearless, be happy, and be you! Thank you for trusting me with your care, helping me grow as a provider and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your life. You are a part of mine.
Please do reach out if you have questions for me and I hope you will schedule with me for your women’s healthcare needs. I’m still providing many of the same services (or at least will soon once I move into my new digs) I’ve been providing many of you. Things are, no doubt, very different but I’m still here for you and I hope you will find that the new practice is more comfortable, less busy and easier to get in to see me. I appreciate your feedback if things are not what you would like. Send me an email or give us a call. Until we meet again. -Kandiss
