Colposcopy

An abnormal Pap smear or a positive HPV result can feel unsettling, and it often leaves women waiting and worrying about what comes next. A colposcopy is a gentle, in-office procedure that lets us take a closer look at the cervix so we can understand what is happening and talk through it with you clearly.
Beginning in October 2026, colposcopy will be available right here in our Boise office with Dr. Karissa Keenan, our board-certified gynecologist. That means the evaluation, the results, and the plan that follows can stay with a team that already knows you, without a referral to a hospital system or a long wait for answers.
During the visit, we use a specialized magnifying instrument to examine the cervix closely, and if needed we may take a small tissue sample for further evaluation. We will explain each step before we begin, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable and informed throughout. Our goal is always for you to leave understanding your results and confident in the next step.
