ABOUT REBEKAH G. FAYETTE
My name is Rebekah G. Fayette. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) as well as a board-certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I bring over two decades of experience as a registered nurse and a decade as a nurse practitioner. I have practiced my entire career here in the valley with a focus on caring for women of all cultural backgrounds through their pregnancies and postpartum care. I recently obtained my postgraduate with a focus on mental health and continue to serve women in an expanded capacity here in our state.
As the middle child of 6, and only girl, I learned to think quickly and run fast (I'm still working on that part!) I found a love for women’s health and alternative therapies from my mother. She used to take me and my siblings to La Leche League when we were young. She normalized the human body and all its workings. I'm very grateful to have been given a safe space to learn and grow, without feelings of shame. I earned my Associate in Occupational Science in 2004 from Career Networks Institute in Costa Mesa, California, and received a certificate as a Holistic Health Practitioner and massage therapist. I enjoyed the focus on functional health in my initial career but knew that there was a population of individuals that I could only assess by furthering my education in Western medicine. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the International University of Nursing in St. Kitts, after which I completed my degree at Purdue University in 2009.
In 2015, I obtained my Master of Nursing from the University of Michigan, where I specialized in women's health and obstetrics as a Certified Nurse Midwife. It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of so many families' birth stories. Bearing witness to the strength and resilience of women is something that I cherish. Seeing women become mothers, men become fathers, and children become siblings. I have been lucky enough to experience the miracle of the birth of my own two daughters and have become a more compassionate clinician because of it. Throughout my career, I could see the ever-growing need for mental health services as wanted to do my part to help fill this crucial healthcare gap. In 2023, I achieved a Post Graduate Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University.
I believe in the individualized healthcare journey, recognizing that each person's experience is unique. The woman is at the core of my practice. Through respect, compassion, and shared decision-making, I empower and support women in achieving optimal health throughout their lifespan. I focus on mental health as we as well-woman and gynecologic care. My philosophy of care is that every person has a different healthcare journey. I strive to help individuals navigate through their healthcare concerns, creating a space to heal and grow. I am committed to providing compassionate mental health care that empowers women to thrive.
